Dear Agemark Family Member,
As you know, we continue to follow recommendations made by CMS, CDC and state agencies to limit the potential for exposure to COVID-19 for our residents and staff.
In the last week, we have begun testing staff and residents in several Agemark communities. We are excited to be able to slowly roll out these tests. Doing so enables us to isolate anyone who may be infected without showing symptoms, ultimately keeping the employees and residents of our communities safe. We will continue to prioritize testing for communities that have a high number of COVID-19 cases in the community at large.
While some state governments are loosening restrictions for the public, senior living experts are recommending we maintain our current precautionary restrictions to protect our vulnerable population. We had previously hoped to be able to relax some precautions by May 3. However, we now realize that is not yet prudent. We will continue to maintain our restricted visiting rules until we can ensure resident safety will not be compromised by allowing visitors in the building. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to put the health and safety of your loved one first.
We are also developing safe processes for possible visitation while still following the guidelines of senior living experts as well as state regulations. We look forward to sharing more information with you once these processes are in place.
We want to make special mention of the incredible employees at our communities. We continue to be truly amazed by our people and their willingness and ability to accept new company policies to keep everyone safe and healthy, along with their commitment to their coworkers and the residents they love. This is what has enabled us to successfully manage an unprecedented situation. Agemark employees truly embody our company values – professionalism, integrity, commitment and compassion. We hope that you are as proud of their effort as we are.
Thank you for your continued trust in us to care for your loved one. Please reach out to the Director of your Community if you have any questions or concerns, or you may call the Agemark Wellness Hotline at 1-800-449-5526.
